Jackson Nyagango I Chairman & Founder
Since 2013 Jackson has been working with and caring for Musoma’s Street Children, becoming well loved and trusted by many. He has a passion to see children rescued from a life on the street and given the care and opportunities that they deserve. Jackson has played a huge role in the founding of Streets of Hope and, as well as acting as Chairman for the organisation, is responsible for its day to day operations. Jackson is fluent in English and has previously worked for a UK Charity which has given him valuable experience to bring to his work with Streets of Hope. Kerrie Richards I Founder & UK Contact
Kerrie first visited Tanzania back in 2012 as a volunteer for a UK charity. From that first visit Kerrie fell in love with the Country and has returned on numerous occasions. It was in 2013 that she and partner Jackson first began supporting some of Musoma’s Street Children. The driving force behind the Organisation, Kerrie has worked hard to establish Streets of Hope as a registered NGO and, currently based in the UK, plays a large role in overseeing the organisations funding and administration. |
Wilberforce (Onyango) Witts I Treasurer
Managing Director of a large Secondary School and CEO of a company offering Micro-finance Loans, Onyango has significant business experience to bring to his role of Treasurer for Streets of Hope. Having run the secondary School for the last 13 years, Onyango has a passion for working with children and helping them to achieve their full potential. His experience within education and finance is a great asset to our work. |
Fredy Itra I Secretary
With a significant 10 years of experience working within the Admin & Accountancy department of a local Secondary School, Fredy has taken upon the role of Secretary for Streets of Hope. In addition to his admin and organisational skills, Fredy also has experience of teaching sports to Secondary School Children; with football mad Street boys this skill will definitely come in handy for us too! Lucas Boniface I Counsellor
Joining the team in February 2017, Lucas works as Streets of Hope's full time Child and Family Counsellor. A qualified Counsellor, Lucas has almost 10 years experience working alongside Street Children in Musoma. He demonstrates a great care and passion in his work and is a fantastic addition to the team. Day to day Lucas works alongside Jackson in the care and couselling of the Street Children who are attending our 'Hope House' day centre and additionally heads up our Family and Street visiting programmes. |
Lucy Itra I Member
With a passion for community care and development, Lucy holds a diploma in Social Work and has experience working within various areas of community development. Lucy is currently full time Mum to her and Fredy's young daughter, Brightness, and volunteers her spare time and valuable experience to help us with family visits and developing good relationships with families of the street children. |
Eliza John I Member
Having known Jackson and Kerrie since 2013, Eliza has become a loyal and trusted worker within their home. With a large family of her own Eliza has many skills valuable to our work at Streets of Hope. Living within a rural village, Eliza has firsthand experience of the struggles of village life which many street children have left behind. Her knowledge is able to help us understand many of the reasons why children leave home and enables us to be more culturally sensitive in addressing these issues. |
