We are delighted to welcome our new Child and Family Counsellor, Lucas, to join our team here at Streets of Hope! Lucas has almost 10 years of experience working as a counsellor for Street Children in Musoma and will be a very valuable addition to our team. Lucas will work alongside Jackson in the day to day care and counselling of the children that are in attendance at Hope House and he will also be responsible for our Family and Street visiting programmes which we are currently reviewing and building upon. We are so excited to be expanding and taking on staff but needless to say this does come at an extra cost! Please Donate Now and help us to continue furthering our work here at Streets of Hope. Karibu Sana Lucas! |

The start of 2017 saw Hope House filled with more furniture and equipment as Jackson and Kerrie moved in fully to the house, giving up their previously rented property nearby. This means that Jackson will now be positioned full time at Hope house which logistically has made a huge difference to our work and ensures that Jackson is always on hand should the children need help outside of the day centre opening hours. We now have a group of street boys who attend our day centre on a regular basis and have made themselves comfortable and at home. It is such a joy for us to see them relax and be able to forget about the stresses of life on the street. Life at Streets of Hope is not always lazy though and the boys love to get involved and help out wherever they can! January has seen the construction of a new rubbish incinerator, some freshly painted walls and windows and the planting of a new flower bed to name just a few things that we have been up to! Check out our handy work below :) The last few months have been full on busy at Streets of Hope as we have been welcoming street children into our newly named 'Hope House'. We have been having fun playing games and getting to know lots of new faces. Check out a few of our pics below! After several months of searching we are very happy to have finally found the perfect house to operate Streets of Hope from! Now work begins to kit out the house with everything we need! If you would like to help us by offering financial support to purchase furniture and equipment to get the premises up and running please head to our Donate page. After a lot of hard work, set backs and frustration we are over joyed to announce that we are officially registered as a NGO of Tanzania!! :)
